The characters and plot of this book are both interesting. I feel as though I can connect with the characters in this book better than I have in other books. With that said, I find that the plot jumps forward instead of flowing smoothly. Some character revelations are almost instantly accepted by the party, and it feels like this plot would work better in a video game then in a book. This detracts from the experience a little, but doesn't stop the book from being a good read. I do recommend it to others as an interesting read.Product details

Having read tons of books in many genres such as Harry Potter, Sword of Truth Series, Wheel of Time, etc. I'm always in for a good read. I tried this book and was well worth my time. It was one of those books that as soon as you start you can't put down for hours on end. The plot was well developed and the story kept my guessing what would happen next. Now it's time to read the second book in the series to see what happens next!

Reading this novel gave me a nostalgia rush, taking me back to air-conditioned summer afternoons playing the Japanese fantasy RPGs of the early ‘90s. The heroes on their quest, united by chance and held together by a growing camaraderie as they journey through dark forests and over bitter mountains. Every character brings their own traits, skills, and individual goals to the journey, punctuated as it is by many unique side-quests as the group struggles toward their destination. Secrets are revealed, love is forged, hatred is steeled, and characters and weapons upgrade in true fantasy game fashion.
The experience of this novel is a lot of fun, and I look forward to seeing what befalls Kren and his crew as the adventure continues in the subsequent installments.
I bought this after reading his comic strip pebbleversion. Especially for a dollar this was a good read. Definitely going to get the next book soon.
The tantalizing beginning of a classic fantasy story of good versus evil. Guardian of the Stone's plot is well developed and its characters are lifelike. The story keeps you on your toes, wanting to know what happens next, throughout the whole book. Definitely worth the read.
